VAMPIRE WEEKEND ON TOUR NOW + FREE BASEMENT JAXX REMIX + SUPPORT CONFIRMED FOR EUROPEAN DATES

We’re excited by the prospect of sweater weather, our busy Fall and our crazy touring adventures that have recently begun. We’re out west at the moment and touring all over the US from now until mid-Oct. Then we’re very lucky to be playing in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Japan before heading on to Europe.

We’re gonna be joined by some amazing people along the way. Beach House are accompanying us for most of our US shows, Dum Dum Girls are along for the first half, and then our friends in The Very Best will be heading out with us too. We can now also announce that Jenny& Johnny have just been confirmed as support in Europe starting on Nov 10th in Lisbon.

We’ll be kicking off a short UK visit with Ratatat on Thanksgiving, where we will hopefully eat some turkey in Blackpool, and we’ll be joined in London by Laura Marling and Janelle Monae. Wrapping it all up on Dec 5th and 6th, we are psyched to be playing 2 shows with The Arcade Fire. Is that enough? There will no doubt be a few more shows added along the way. And finally, here’s a fantastic remix of‘White Sky’ that Basement Jaxx made we’d like to share with you all. See you soon!

Seattle Make-Up Dates

We have now firmed up details about our Seattle make-up date…actually there will be 2 dates. On September 22nd and 23rd we will play at the gorgeous Paramount Theatre. Opening these shows will be Seattle’s own The Head And The Heart. Here are details about how you can exchange your Redmond ticket for one of these, or get a refund…..

The Vampire Weekend show originally scheduled for Sunday, August 29th at Marymoor Park has been rescheduled for September 22nd and 23rd at The Paramount Theatre.ALLTICKETSHELDFORTHEMARYMOORSHOWCANBEEXCHANGEDat NOCOSTfor the new shows, and current ticketholders will have their choice of days. Patrons that purchased tickets for the original show through Ticketmaster must call 1-800-745-3000 to arrange an exchange for tickets to one of the new dates. Patrons who purchased directly at The Marymoor Park Box Office can exchange their tickets at The Paramount Theatre Box Office during regular business hours.

If you purchased your ticket the night of the show, in cash, at the gate, you can exchange the ticket for the rescheduled show at the Paramount box office during regular business hours. If you prefer a refund, you can obtain one by sending your ticket to:

Fall Tour

Tonight (June 23rd), Vampire Weekend play an intimate free gig in Torino, Italy. The gig is being filmed in 3-D for screening by MTV at a later date. We have 10 pairs of tickets to give away. However, if you can't make it to Italy tonight, Vampire Weekend will be heading to a town near you very soon. The entire run of shows include dates in some legendary venues. They include a show at Red Rocks, a sold-out three night stand in the band's hometown at the legendary Radio City Music Hall, and a show in Los Angeles at the gorgeous Hollywood Bowl.

The band's sophomore release, Contra, was released by XL Recordings on January 12th and debuted at #1 on the Billboard chart, which was a first for a truly independent release by an indie rock band. Their self-titled debut album was recently certified gold. Since the album's release, the band has performed on a number of late-night television shows, including most recently The Colbert Report where they performed"Holiday"and debated the need for an Oxford Comma with Stephen Colbert.

Earlier this month, the band also made a surprise appearance in New York at Conan O'Brien's Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Televisiontour. The band played"Walcott"and Conan even joined them on guitar for the rendition. Vampire Weekend is spending most of the summer playing shows all over the world including Glastonbury, Roskilde, Montreaux Jazz Festival, T In The Park, Benicassim, Latitude and more before the start of their tour in Vancouver on 8/27.
